The Foundation for Educational Excellence proudly presented the 2025 Dr. Wayne Carbiener “Above & Beyond” Award to Allison Gallagher, Beaufort County School District’s Teacher of the Year and a science teacher at H.E. McCracken Middle School. This special recognition celebrates educators who demonstrate exceptional dedication, leadership, and commitment to their students and school communities.
As part of the honor, Gallagher received a $1,000 grant to support classroom projects and address student needs, helping her continue to create meaningful, hands-on learning experiences. The annual award honors the legacy of Dr. Wayne Carbiener, a former Beaufort County Board of Education member and longtime supporter of public education whose passion for teachers and students continues to inspire.
Each year, Dr. Carbiener’s family carries forward his vision by funding this award, reflecting their ongoing support and admiration for Beaufort County’s public school teachers and the lasting impact of educators who truly go above and beyond.
