“LET’S ROCK!” CONCERT PRESENTED BY THE FOUNDATION FOR EDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCE

Updated: Apr 10, 2023

Live music. Community. A great cause. An anniversary celebration. What more could one event offer? The upcoming “Let’s Rock!” concert is definitely a can’t-miss event for Lowcountry music lovers from young to old and in between. The Foundation for Educational Excellence presents the “Let’s Rock!” concert on Saturday, April 22 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. with an evening of classical rock performances by well-known local bands and musicians, and students.

Your first question is probably - where? At Hilton Head Island High School’s Seahawk Cultural Center, 70 Wilborn Road, Hilton Head Island. All proceeds will benefit the Foundation, but the night is also a celebration for the 40th anniversary of Hilton Head Island High School.

Your second question obviously is – who will be performing? We will have a little bit of something for everyone. It’s a true community event. Like the Beatles? Then you’ll be excited to see local favorite, The Beagles: Steve Richard and Richie Dreier playing music of the Beatles. Are you a Tom Petty or Bob Dylan fan? Then don’t miss the performance by Chick O’Shea. Annie Thompson will be performing Landslide by Fleetwood Mac and Bob Savarese will be there to share the best of Paul Simon.

If you’re a Hilton Head Island OG – then you’ll definitely recognize some of the local alumni celebrity performers like…Sara Burns, Duncan Aspinwall-Winter & Domino Theory, Adriana Urato, Emma Stanton and The Alumni Band: Dakota Sabados, Dallas Ackerman and Alex Tye. And in honor of HHIHS’s 40th anniversary, the evening will also include a special performance by the HHIHS Arts Department.

“What better way to celebrate the school’s 40th birthday than with a giant party with the entire community?” says Cindy Sturgis, Foundation Board member and event coordinator. “I hope that everyone shows up ready to have a great time for an amazing cause – supporting the Foundation.”

General admission tickets are $20 and can be purchased online. Tickets for students are $5 with ID at the door and teachers will be admitted for $10 with ID at the door.
